This chapter aims at highlighting the structural asymmetries that exist in the Greek airport sector and proposing measures to alleviate the problem. In particular, section two briefly reviews airport competition and the recent empowerment of regional airports in Europe. Section three discusses the profile of Greek airports showing the evolution of relative size distribution over time. Section four undertakes a correlation and an asymmetry analysis to show the great potential of airports in mainland Greece. Finally, section five concludes by suggesting appropriate consultation with all stakeholders involved in airport development leading to a way forward.
