This chapter studies the relationship between tourism and air transport. Section 8.2 assesses the implications of airline deregulation for tourism whereas section 8.3 studies vertical integration between air transport and the distribution system. Sections 8.4 and 8.5 then focus on two major trends, i.e. dynamic packaging and short-breaks. Finally, section 8.6 summarises and concludes.
